MAS Bars Two Former Bankers Over Singapore’s S$3 Billion Laundering Case

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has issued lengthy prohibition orders against two former bank relationship managers convicted of offences connected to the S$3 billion money laundering case.
Wang Qiming received a 16-year order and Liu Kai a seven-year order. The restrictions bar them from providing regulated financial services, participating in the management of financial institutions and acting as directors, partners or managers of such firms.
MAS said the duration reflected the gravity of the misconduct. Both men had worked as relationship managers at Julius Baer.
