Hong Kong Charges Seven People and Two Firms After Wang Fuk Court Fire

Hong Kong police and the Independent Commission Against Corruption have charged seven people and two companies over the Wang Fuk Court fire that killed 168 people in November 2025.
The defendants face 25 counts including manslaughter, conspiracy to defraud, money laundering, attempting to pervert the course of justice and tax evasion. The two companies are Will Power Architects Company and Prestige Construction & Engineering, which were involved in the estate’s renovation project.
The charges include allegations that parties concealed prior litigation involving the contractor and manipulated tender information. The defendants have not been convicted.
