Anchorpoint Begins Phased Rollout of Regulated HKD Stablecoin HKDAP

Anchorpoint Financial has begun the first phase of the rollout of HKDAP, its Hong Kong dollar-backed stablecoin issued under a licence from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.
The initial phase is limited to institutional distributors and professional investors. Authorised distributors will support conversion between HKDAP and fiat currency and its use in commercial applications, including payments and settlement.
HKDAP is designed to maintain a one-to-one value with the Hong Kong dollar. Anchorpoint says the token is backed by high-quality liquid reserve assets and distributed through authorised institutions that complete due diligence and onboarding.
The rollout follows the HKMA’s April 2026 decision to grant stablecoin issuer licences to Anchorpoint Financial and HSBC under Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance. Anchorpoint is backed by Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), HKT and Animoca Brands.
Anchorpoint is using a phased distribution model, with broader access expected later in 2026 subject to market readiness. The launch marks a move from licensing and testing into live deployment of regulated Hong Kong dollar stablecoins.
For compliance teams, the structure illustrates how regulated stablecoin distribution is being tied to institutional onboarding, KYC and controlled access rather than an unrestricted token launch.
