Replica Cyber Launches Governed AI Agents for Financial Crime and Fraud Investigations

Replica Cyber on August 31, 2026 announced a new architecture for running autonomous AI agents inside isolated environments designed for regulated financial institutions. The company says the approach is intended to let firms automate higher-risk digital work while retaining the ability to observe, stop and audit agent activity.
The new capability targets workflows including fraud analysis, threat-intelligence collection and dark-web monitoring. Replica’s model places AI agents inside hardware-isolated workspaces separated from the institution’s primary network, with policy-based controls governing data movement, permissions and outbound activity.
Controlled automation for sensitive investigations
Replica says every agent action can be logged and reviewed, while administrators can define approval rules and inbound and outbound data controls. The platform also supports integration with existing SIEM and SOAR environments so telemetry, audit logs and user activity can be fed into central monitoring systems.
The company positions the architecture as a way for financial institutions to use agentic AI in investigations without exposing production systems, sensitive customer data or internal networks to untrusted external content. Its broader secure-environments platform is already marketed for fraud and financial-crime investigations, dark-web operations and other high-risk digital work.
The launch reflects a wider industry challenge as banks and other regulated firms test autonomous AI for investigative and compliance workflows while trying to preserve human oversight, auditability and clear control boundaries. For financial-crime teams, those governance controls are likely to matter as much as the underlying AI models when agents are allowed to collect evidence, interact with external systems or handle sensitive case data.
