Raiz Expands Alkami Platform as Digital Account Opening Falls to Four Minutes

Raiz Federal Credit Union has expanded its relationship with Alkami Technology to cover the full Digital Sales & Service Platform, extending the credit union’s use of digital onboarding, banking and fraud-prevention technology.

Alkami announced the expanded deployment on September 3, 2026. Raiz, which serves more than 79,000 members in El Paso, Texas, is already live with the Alkami Digital Banking Platform and MANTL Onboarding & Account Opening, and is implementing Alkami’s Data & Marketing Solution.

Account opening reduced from days to minutes

According to Alkami’s case study, Raiz reduced online account opening from as long as nine days to approximately four minutes. In-branch account opening fell from 30–45 minutes to under 10 minutes, while call-centre account funding dropped from two to three days to about nine minutes.

Raiz has also shifted its branch model toward digital service. By 2024, all nine branches had moved to a fully digital model without traditional teller functions or cash drawers, with routine transactions supported through digital banking and enhanced self-service ATMs.

Fraud prevention forms part of the deployment

Alkami said its layered fraud-prevention capabilities helped Raiz prevent more than US$286,000 in reported fraud during the first year. Monthly digital login rates also increased from 30% to 49%.

The figures are based on Alkami’s own case study and should be read as company-reported results rather than independently verified industry benchmarks.

The deployment illustrates how financial institutions are increasingly combining digital onboarding, account opening and fraud controls in the same customer-acquisition workflow. For compliance teams, the operational challenge is to reduce onboarding friction without weakening identity and fraud controls as application volumes and digital channels expand.
