U.S. Sanctions Autistici Inventati, Palestine Action and Masar Badil Under Counterterrorism Authority

The U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on 26 August 2026 sanctioned three organizations and two individuals under Executive Order 13224, as amended, in a counterterrorism action targeting what Treasury described as violent far-left terrorist networks and their support infrastructure.

The designated organizations are Autistici Inventati, an Italy-based entity; Palestine Action, a United Kingdom-based organization; and Masar Badil, a transnational group that Treasury described as a front linked to the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). OFAC also designated Rawa Alsagheer, based in Brazil, and Zaid Abdulnasser, based in Germany, as leaders or officials of Masar Badil.

Technology and organizational support cited by Treasury

Treasury said Autistici Inventati provides digital infrastructure and services including foreign-server hosting, encrypted email, chat and video-conferencing tools, and infrastructure associated with its “Noblogs” platform. OFAC designated the organization for materially assisting, sponsoring or providing financial, material or technological support, goods or services in support of an act of terrorism.

Palestine Action was designated on the same support basis under E.O. 13224. Treasury noted that the UK government proscribed Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act 2000 in July 2025. The U.S. action is a sanctions designation and should not be described as a criminal conviction.

Masar Badil fundraising links and leadership

Treasury described Masar Badil as a transnational organization linked to Samidoun, which the United States and Canada sanctioned in October 2024. According to Treasury, Masar Badil and Samidoun share fundraising mechanisms as well as senior leaders and members of their executive committees.

OFAC designated Masar Badil for being owned, controlled or directed by, or acting for or on behalf of, Samidoun. Rawa Alsagheer and Zaid Abdulnasser were separately designated as leaders or officials of Masar Badil.

Blocking and secondary-sanctions implications

As a result of the action, property and interests in property of the designated persons that are in the United States or in the possession or control of U.S. persons are blocked and must be reported to OFAC. Entities owned 50% or more, directly or indirectly and in aggregate, by one or more blocked persons are also blocked.

OFAC also warned that foreign financial institutions may face secondary-sanctions exposure for knowingly conducting or facilitating significant transactions on behalf of persons designated under the relevant authority. U.S. persons are generally prohibited, unless authorized or exempt, from transactions involving the property or interests in property of blocked persons.

For sanctions-screening and terrorist-financing controls, the action requires institutions to update watchlists and consider indirect ownership, payment flows and service relationships involving the newly designated organizations and individuals.
