Malaysian Suspect Charged in Singapore Over Money Laundering Syndicate

A 28-year-old Malaysian man has been charged in Singapore over his alleged role in a money laundering syndicate targeting Singapore bank accounts.
Tan Kian Hoa was detained in Malaysia on 20 July and handed to the Singapore Police Force the following day following cooperation between the two countries’ law-enforcement agencies.
Prosecutors allege that Tan conspired with others in March to help retain benefits from an undisclosed criminal activity. The charge remains an allegation and the case is before the courts.
